Building in Paradise Valley

Paradise Valley is a town rather than part of Phoenix, and it governs building on its own terms. Setbacks, height and hillside provisions are taken seriously here, and any serious project starts with what the town will actually permit rather than with a floor plan.

The work is predominantly large custom homes and substantial renovations, on lots where privacy and sightlines are part of the brief. Neighbouring properties are close enough in consequence, if not in distance, that we agree access and staging before the first truck arrives.

Mountain and hillside parcels bring grading, drainage and retaining considerations that flat-lot experience does not prepare you for. We would rather walk a site and tell an owner that a plan needs rethinking than discover the same thing halfway through excavation.
