The City of Maricopa is in Pinal County, not Maricopa County — a distinction that catches people out and matters here, because it means a different jurisdiction from most of the valley. The city runs its own development services department and a permit is a City of Maricopa submittal.

Almost the whole city was built after 2000. Rancho El Dorado, Province, Homestead and the tracts around them are master-planned and consistent — slab-on-grade, truss framed, stucco over frame. The work is addition and outdoor living rather than structural repair.

Maricopa sits far enough south of the valley that a crew is committed to the day once it arrives. We schedule in blocks here rather than half-days, and we stage materials on site so a forgotten item does not cost an hour each way.
